In contrast to the blimps, the Zeppelin NT has a load-bearing internal structure made of aluminum longitudinal beams and triangular carbon frames. It is powered by three Lycoming IO-360 engines with 200 hp each. The pivoting side and rear engines are attached to the inner structure of the zeppelin, enabling high maneuverability, low manpower requirements during take-off and landing - and ensuring a smooth, low-vibration flight through the air at an altitude of around 300 m.

That's right: the Zeppelin NT flies - and doesn't drive, like its ancestors or gas and hot air balloons, because it is heavier than air - despite the buoyancy provided by the light and incombustible gas helium inside it. It therefore takes off with a static weight of around 350 kg with the help of its swivel propellers - vertically, like a low-noise helicopter.

The Zeppelin Museum displays photos, original documents and exhibits that come directly from the Zeppelin shipyard - not just decommissioned "old" pieces, as is usually the case in a museum, but changing, brand new components that are yet to be installed in an airship. The exhibition area thus becomes a materials store and, in part, a workshop, as work on the new Zeppelin NT also continues in the museum.
