Max Ackermann: The Subject Seeker.
130 Works for the 130th Birthday

08.12.2017 – 08.04.2018

Occasioned by the 130th anniversary of the birth of Max Ackermann (1887-1975), one of abstract painting’s most significant pioneers, the Zeppelin Museum will host a major exhibition.

Ackermann, who was defamed as a degenerate artist during the Nazi Regime, lived in Bodensee from 1936 to 1957 and associated himself with the Höri-Künstlern alongside Otto Dix and Erich Heckel. The comprehensive exhibition charts the great diversity of his compositions, presenting over 130 works from the collection.
