Mariä Lichtmess in the Zeppelin Village
Exactly 40 days after Christmas, on February 2, the Catholic liturgical year traditionally celebrates Mariä Lichtmess with the blessing of candles for the church's needs for the year. On this day, believers also bring their candles for household use. At the end of the mass, the Blessing of St. Blaise is given, whose feast day is on February 3. St. Blaise is a popular patron saint in the Catholic calendar and is often invoked for protection against throat diseases.
