OPEN HOUSE! Cherchez les Femmes: Women at Zeppelin
When you hear Zeppelin, you think of airships and men – men like Count Zeppelin, Alfred Colsman, Hugo Eckener, Ludwig Dürr, Ernst Lehmann, Hans von Schiller and others. The names of women who played a role in the development of the airship and the company are largely unknown. Barbara Waibel, head of the archive at the Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen, has therefore set out to search the archives for women at Zeppelin. In her lecture on International Women's Day on March 8, 2024, she uses extensive images and source material to trace the eventful and multi-layered history of the Zeppelin Group, focusing on women.
